2nd Thrilling Victory in Two
Weeks for FC Sudwerk

DAVIS, Calif., July 16, 2008 (Reuters) -- Midfield maestro Michael Campbell scored two goals Wednesday night, including a spectacular header, to lead FC Sudwerkto a 4-3 victory over Arsenal.

The win moves the club to 2-0 on the summer, after
it dispatched Supernova last week by the same score, and keeps the team undefeated in its bodacious new black jerseys.

Arsenal rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit to tie the
match, but Campbell delivered the coup de grace in the
72nd minute. He received a delightful cross from the
right flank 12 yards directly in front of the near post
and nodded the ball into the upper 90.

Arsenal had several opportunities to draw level but was denied by Sudwerk keeper Andrew LaMar, who deflected the most dangerous shot -- a low, eight-yard drive from right of goal headed for the far post -- with a kick save. LaMar recorded nine saves in his first game back since undergoing ACL surgery last September.

The win was all the more impressive considering FC Sudwerk had to play one player short. Next match is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Playfields Park against Pulsars. Hope to see you all there. Prost!  ##
