Another 2nd Half Letdown for FCS

DAVIS, Calif., June 18 (Reuters) --  For the second straight week, FC Sudwerk collapsed in the second half, losing 8-2 on Sunday to Inter after leading early.

Playing with only two subs in 90-degree heat against a team stocked with 17-year-olds proved to be a deadly combination for the red-and-black, which was overrun by a withering second-half assault.

"Clearly, we didn't have the energy and speed to keep up with these guys," said Juan Carlos, the president and CEO of FC Sudwerk. "In the future, we'll bring more subs to a game like this so we can dominate for more than just 45 minutes."

Sudwerk had the run of play in the first half. Adam Bauer gave Sudwerk the lead on a superb shot from the right flank midway through the first half. Inter equalized just before the break. But the second half was all Inter.

The red-and-black's next game is 10 a.m. Sunday against Oldenfowl. ##
