| Sudwerk Gets A Dubya DAVIS, Calif., June 13 (Reuters) FC Sudwerk broke out of a spring slump Sunday by posting a 2-0 victory over Bozons FC. J.B. Rudell delivered the game-winner early in the second half when he sprinted through Bozons' back line and finished off his breakaway with a nicely slotted ball from 12 yards out. Mel Meyer, the red-and-black's standout center midfielder, tallied the second midway through the half on a header at the goal mouth. The red-and-black's defense held firm thanks to solid play by Rudell and Phil Pareas, who traded off sweeping, and the entire back line. Goalie Rosie Matli recorded a clean sheet in her second game with the club. But the victory came at a high price: Two Sudwerk stars aggravated longstanding injuries. Both Craig Dandurand, strained calf, and Andreas Agocs, achilles tendonitis, limped off the field and may be out of action for 4-6 weeks. Sudwerk concludes the spring season with a 4 p.m. Sunday match against Eagles. ## |
