Draw with Celtic FC DAVIS, Calif., June 11, 2008 -- FC Sudwerk rallied with three goals Wednesday night to earn a draw with the talented Celtic FC. Down by two at the break, FC Sudwerk scored within the first minute of the second half with a quick shot from just outside the penalty box. The red-and-black shocked Celtic in the next 10 minutes by scoring two more and taking a 3-2 lead, but the green were able to pull one back in the final minute of the game. The second-half offense was orchestrated by striker Tim Schrupp. Sudwerk used a triangle strike formation, at Schrupp's urging, to jump start the scoring. The red-and-black introduced five new players to the lineup from the team's sponsor, Sudwerk. Included were Mark Gojkovich, the brewery's general manager, and four women, bringing much better balance to the co-ed team. The next match is 8 p.m. Thur., June 19th vs. Purple Haze. ## |
