| Bad Outings for Sudwerk, USA DAVIS, Calif., June 12 -- I'm not sure what was more painful -- watching the U.S. get hammered by the Czech Republic on Monday, or playing in that dog of a second half on Sunday, when Pulsars scored four goals to defeat FC Sudwerk 4-1. Ay carramba! As for Sunday's game, the red-and-black dominated the first half, controlling possession and playing almost entirely in Pulsars' half. But Sudwerk had trouble creating scoring chances and couldn't finish when it did. In the second half, Pulsars counterattacked effectively as Sudwerk pressed, breaking through to outnumber the red-and-black defense on several occasions and taking advantage to net three goals. The two teams traded penalty kick goals in the final minutes to produce the 4-1 final score. "This was a disappointing game," said Juan Carlos, president and CEO of FC Sudwerk. "We played well initially but then clearly got frustrated and lost our poise once we allowed a goal." Sudwerk continues the spring season Sunday with a 10 a.m. match against Inter. ## |
