Sudwerk Falls, 3-0

DAVIS, Calif., May 11 (AP) -- FC Sudwerk gave a spirited performance on Sunday, despite missing several key players, but lost 3-0 to Humboldt Grown.
Humboldt Grown dominated the midfield and attacked relentlessly, creating many scoring opportunities. The Sudwerk defense, however, held up well and goalie Chris Lief never looked better.
The red-and-black, which dropped to 1-2 on the season, had limited scoring chances but came close twice. Donn Cox launched a beautiful, curving, right-footed shot from the 18 that went a yard wide of the right post. Joseph L'Amour got in on goal after receiving a lovely through ball but Humboldt Grown keeper Debbie Daniels made a nice diving save.
      Sudwerk's next game is 10 a.m. Sunday, May 18.
