| FC Sudwerk Press Release FC Sudwerk Unveils New Web Page DAVIS, Calif., April 4 -- FC Sudwerk launched a Web page on Wednesday that will give players and fans up-to-the-minute news on the club as well as information on and links to soccer around the world. "This is another step in Sudwerk's drive to become Northern California's premier adult soccer team," said Ramal Werdna, the club president and CEO. "We look forward to putting all the information about the club, from its schedule to game reports, on our Web page." Werdna said he hopes the site will be a popular place for all soccer aficionados. Also, players and fans can interact by posting their comments on the Web page's guest book. "We still have some glitches to work out," Werdna said. "Eventually, though, we expect this site to become the center of information and discussion about the club." Sudwerk is one of three teams slated to join the Davis Adult Recreational Soccer League this spring. League play is due to get underway by the end of April. The team is finalizing contracts with players. Werdna said the club would announce its final roster within a week. In addition, club officials are negotiating the terms of a new contract with German ARD television, which aired some Sudwerk winter season games during the early morning hours, and searching for a second corporate sponsor. Werdna said he could not discuss the pending business arrangements. Nike, the sports-shoe giant that sponsors Inter Milan and FC Barcelona, was rumored to be interested but a spokesman for Portland, Ore.,-based corporation declined to comment. The Web site is located at http://www.geocities.com/fcsudwerk/ ## |
