Sudwerk Earns 1st Win
DAVIS, Calif., April 27 (AP) -- Joseph L'Amour scored the lone second half goal on Sunday to lead FC Sudwerk to a 2-1 victory over Eagles.
The win, the red-and-black's first of the spring season, improves the club's record to 1-1.
The match featured a back-and-forth battle that saw both sides produce ample scoring opportunities. Eagles hit the cross bar twice and missed a penalty kick while Sudwerk threatened all day long, mostly through the center of the defense.
"We're pleased with how we played," said Ramal Werdna, the president and CEO of FC Sudwerk. "Everyone worked hard and it paid off."
Phil Pareas scored the game's first goal, and Eagles equalized for a 1-1 halftime score.
