| Sudwerk Tallies Two-fer DAVIS, Calif., Feb. 8 (Reuters) -- FC Sudwerk's two indoor teams sailed to victory Sunday, marking the third matchday this winter the club has achieved double success. Red downed Humboldt Grown A 14-7 and Black followed by topping Davis Football Club 12-9. Red, which pushed its record to 5-0, encountered a fiercely competitive Humboldt Grown side that rallied to tie the game at 7 early in the second half. But Amy Toy scored twice to start Red on 7-goal run to close out the match. The exceptional teamwork of Red produced a scoring sheet that included every player except goalie J.C. Mark. Black also encountered a tough opponent in Davis Football Club and likewise saw an early lead vanish. J.B. Rudell broke a 7-7 tie and Melody Meyer added to the lead, as Andrew Morin and the rest of Black responded with solid defense to seal the victory. Week 6 of DARSL's indoor season has Red facing Stone/Monkeys at 3 p.m. and Black taking on Humboldt Grown A at 4 p.m. ## |
