Win Streak Goes To 5

DAVIS, Calif., Feb. 6 (Reuters) FC Sudwerk Nation remained undefeated Sunday, as Black steamrolled Purple Haze and Red squeaked by Mooninites.

The victories gave each squad a 5-0 record as they reached the halfway point of the winter indoor season.

"This is awesome," said Juan Carlos, the president and CEO of FC Sudwerk. "It's great to watch both these teams gell."

In the first game, the Dirty Little Secrets took a 5-2 lead into the halftime break and managed to hold off Mooninites' late rally to win 10-8. Goal-scorers Cathy Ross, who tallied two, and Phil Pareas led the way. Red got strong performances all the way around, with Amy Toy returning to the lineup to play solid defense.

In Game 2, the Black Bombers blasted to an 8-3 first-half advantage and never looked back. J.B. Rudell, Joe Schmidt, Mel Meyer, Jackie Bergquist and Renae Wurschmidt Owens all had outstanding games and goalie Joe Cardoza limited Purple Haze to 2 second-half goals en route to a 16-5 final score.

Game balls to Cathy and Joe Cardoza. Great job all!!! #
