DAVIS, Calif., Feb. 26 (Reuters) -- FC Sudwerk's undermanned indoor squads came out on opposite sides Sunday, with Black triumphing over Good Old Folks 15-11 and Red falling to Humboldt Grown 14-12. Most impressively, both teams played without subs but managed to stretch their opponents to the limit. Black took an early lead -- 9-5 at the break -- and then held the margin in an intense, back-and-forth second half. The quartet included J.B. Rudell, Mel Meyer, James Engel and Andrew LaMar. Meanwhile, Red -- Adam Bauer, Phil Pareas, Cathy Ross and Craig Dandurand -- held their own against speedy Humbold Grown. Red came up just shy, despite Bauer scoring twice while playing keeper for the injured Dandurand. Way to go Sudwerk! ## |
