Black Edges Red in Club Classic

DAVIS, Calif., Feb. 12 (Reuters) -- FC Sudwerk's intra-club rivalry match didn't disappoint Sunday, with Black edging Red 11-10 in another nail-biter.

The game got off to a slow start, with only five goals scored in the first half. But after the break, both teams opened it up and Black expanded its 3-2 halftime lead to 8-4 before Red bounced back.

The Reds, playing without stars Adam Bauer, Craig Dandurand and Max Simmons, capitalized on the playmaking skills of Phil Pareas and replacement player Imer. Red drew within one goal on three separate occasions, including the final 30 seconds, but could never get the equalizer.

Both squads played with only one sub -- talk about a workout! Game balls to everyone. Prost! ##
