Bitter Draw for Sudwerk

DAVIS, Calif., Oct. 27 (Reuters) -- FC Sudwerk gave up a goal in the final minute Thursday night to draw 4-4 with Supernova.

The red-and-black rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit thanks to goals by Alex Park, Imer and Mel Meyer. But Supernova stormed back to level the game at 3 apiece.

Sudwerk looked to have the winner when Meyer tallied her second goal of the match in the 80th minute, heading home a ball after it caromed off the cross bar. It was not to be, though, as a clearance kick that went awry cost the red-and-black dearly.

The ball rebounded into the penalty box, where a Supernova striker tapped it around onrushing Goalie Joe Cardoza and into the net only seconds before the final whistle blew. ##
