| Sudwerk Spanked DAVIS, Calif., Oct. 26 (AP) -- FC Sudwerk wilted in the heat for a second consecutive week Sunday, as Arsenal routed the red-and-black 9-1. Arsenal pummeled Sudwerk's goal with shots from near and far and overran the Red Raiders for an insurmountable lead in the second half. Sudwerk, playing without subs, stepped up its attack late in the first half and looked as though it would make a game of it despite being down 4-1. But a hot afternoon that saw temperatures soar into the 90's zapped the red-and-black of its strength and allowed Arsenal to dominate the second half. "We've got two games left in the season, and we're going to do everything possible to put up a W," said Ramal Werdna, club president and CEO. "I know we're a better club than this." Sudwerk's next game is 10 a.m. Sunday against highly regarded Davis Football Club. ## |
