Losing Streak Continues

DAVIS, Calif., Oct. 19 (Reuters) -- FC Sudwerk's losing streak stretched to three on Sunday, after the red-and-black failed to  protect a two-goal lead and fell 7-4 to Eagles.

The Red Raiders ran out of gas in the second half and gave up five unanswered goals, as Eagles attacked in waves.

Sudwerk led 3-2 at intermission, thanks to three terrific goals by J.B. Rudell, one coming on a penalty kick and another finishing off an impressive build up from the right flank.

Andreas Agocs scored his first of the season early in the second half on a nicely touched chip shot over the goalie from the 18. But Sudwerk, playing without subs for the second consecutive week, grew weary and its marking disintegrated.

Eagles took advantage by flooding Sudwerk's flanks with attackers.

"It's always disappointing when you have an early lead and lose it," said Ramal Werdna, president and CEO of FC Sudwerk. "We played well when we had the energy but obviously wore down."

Sudwerk's next game is 12 p.m. Sunday against Arsenal. ##
