Sudwerk Falls 4-0
DAVIS, Calif., Oct. 17 (AP) -- Sudwerk dropped its second game in a row on Thursday, falling 4-0 to Humboldt Grown.
Humboldt Grown capitalized on its speed to score three goals on breakaways in the first half and held firm in the second half as Sudwerk stepped up its attack.
For the second straight week, Sudwerk striker John Acord caromed a shot off a goal post but could not find the net. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Joncarlo Mark, who was tested frequently, shined with a combination of quick reflexes and aggressive charges coming off the line.
With the loss, Sudwerk's fall record is 3-4. The red-and-black play next on Friday, Oct. 25, against the Red, White and Blue.
