| Suspensions for DFC DAVIS, Calif., Oct. 1 (AP) -- Three Davis Football Club players will not be allowed to play this week due to their unsporstmanlike conduct in last week's match with FC Sudwerk, leeague officials announced on Tuesday. Sudwerk won the game 3-1, despite being a player short. Late in the game, DFC players Adam Price and Jorge Velasquez received red cards. Price used his hand to block a shot headed for goal and later Velasquez tackled Sudwerk striker John Acord hard from behind. The calls upset DFC captain John Hyde so much he pulled his team off the field five minutes from time and initially refused to pay the referees. Hyde has since apologized to both the league and Sudwerk for his conduct. The league's referee coordinator, Paul Sabatier, has recommended Hyde and Price be suspended for one game and Velasquez for two. Sudwerk, now 2-2 on the fall season, faces Stone/Monkeys on Friday. ## |
