Black's Late Rally Earns Draw ;
Red Pushes Win Streak to 3

DAVIS, Calif., Jan. 29 (AP) -- FCS Red won its third in a row on Sunday, downing Pulsars 10-8, while FCS Black  scored three unanswered goals in the final three minutes to draw 9-9 with Humboldt Grown.

Red used a balanced passing and scoring attack and received outstanding goalkeeping from Craig Dandurand  to continue its winning ways. Red dominated but its lack of finishing kept the game close.

As for Black, it strained to extend its unbeaten streak to four games.

Black found itself trailing early but rebounded to level the score at 5 apiece by the break, thanks to J.B. Rudell's deadly marksmanship. The match, intense from the beginning, turned into a fierce physical battle in the second half, with neither team able to score the first 10 minutes.

But Black's defense broke first, with Humboldt Grown scoring three times in two minutes midway through the half to take a commanding 8-5 lead. The margin remained the same, with each side adding one, before the final, frenzied minutes.

Andrew LaMar, Mel Meyer and Rudell each scored in quick succession to pull out the draw.

DARSL will take Super Bowl Sunday off and return to action on Feb. 12. Black and Red's next game will be against each other -- a rematch of the intra-club super-classico that Black prevailed in 12-11 in week No. 1.
