The FRANKLIN COUNTY RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION PEGGY GRATE/DOROTHY SCRIVENER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND awarded the second teacher scholarship in 2008.
Congratulations to Sinda Becker who was selected as the 2008 recipient . She is a 5th and 6th grade math and science teacher from the Southwestern School District who began teaching in 2005.
There were 17 applicants this year--all from the Southwestern School District.
The first (2007) recipient was Renee Polsley who used the award toward course work
The scholarship applications are sent to the Superintendents. They are distributed for teachers who are eligible. They are expected to be returned by the deadline of MAY 15 each year. The scholarship committee will decide the finalist and she/he will be invited to the June meeting to receive the scholarship.
