Letter from the Editor

There were many field crops varieties released in 2002 and 2003. Moreover, there are still some field crop varieties under going the process for release in the year 2004. In addition, many production technologies have been developed and disseminated to the farmers. These technologies are not only increase production or quality with lower cost but also increase environment friendly. Details of the research results are shown in this issue. By the way, FCRI has gotten a new director (Mr. Chalermpol Lairung reung) a former director of Suphan Buri Field Crops Research Centre. The new FCRI director is an expert in Sugar-cane and sugar production. I hope that the FCRI under his leading will get more advance in the research works at high speed as before.
