The 6/15/2003, the atmosphere around the Mogadishu training ground was overwhelming. The local heroes were currently 1st, and looked to maintain their lead. The excitement and the will on the pitch was superbly demonstrated in the match against FC Netmasker (5/25/2003), were Mogadishu drew 4-4 away. FCN fielded an "excellent" midfield, and FCM only a "weak" midfield! Despite the facts, Mogadishu were able to draw.
But as the tournament continued, FC Mogadishu couldn't keep up the big performances. Injuries started to hit Mogadishu, and it was the key players who suffered the most. Among the unlucky players were top goalscorer Dan Ahltorp, defender Sajja Suriwongse, captain Looby and the reliable Can Berkes. That was the reason why expectations turned into hopes.
3rd place is a succes
Despite once being on top, the Mogadishu board are very pleased with the third place. The board makes it clear that there have been many keys to the FCM-succes.
First of all the coach Soren Tvistholm, who has been cheering the guys up all season.
Dan Ahltorp, who has made a turific come-back, and became part top goalscorer of the league with 10 goals.
The signed players, Mikael Nywald, Stefan Bertilsson, Stefan Alexandersson and Alfredo Abrisqueta.
