TEAM RULES
Eligibility
Before practicing with the team, each  athlete must have a current school year physical examination that clears the  athlete for unrestricted participation in sports activities. Athletes also must  complete and turn in an emergency data card that provides the athlete's insurance and health care information.  Parental consent to the athlete's participation in track and field must be indicated on the card.  If you are interested in joining the team and have not had a physical examination, request a form from the coaches or the Activities Office and make an appointment with your doctor. Physical examinations that were completed for other sports during  this school year are viable for the outdoor season.
Each athlete must turn in the following  forms that have been signed by both the student and the parent:  form labeled "Physical Exam," Participation Policy, form labeled "Hazing," and form setting forth these rules.
Throughout the season, the coaching staff  will be issuing random grade checks. Maintaining your school work comes before  anything else. Students who are not maintaining good grades will be assigned to  study hall until the grade or grades have been raised above the passing level.  Study hall takes place after school and before practice.
Practice
We practice everyday after school.  We will  begin at 4 p.m.  Our late practices should afford you the opportunity to get any additional tutoring or academic help that you may need after school.  Our  practices will generally run for two hours.  There may be times that practice will run 10-15 minutes over schedule.
Attendance
Though there are many individual events, track and field always has been, and always will be, a team sport. Therefore, as a member of this team, you are required to attend practice everyday. You will be allowed one unexcused absence. Any unexcused absences beyond the first may cost you the opportunity to letter in this sport. You will also be allowed four excused absences.  An absence is considered "excused" when a member of the coaching staff has been given prior notice of the absence by a phone call from a parent or a signed note that also lists a phone number where the parent may be reached.  Whether an absence is considered excused or unexcused will be determined by the coaching staff. Coach Dyson will field all inquiries in regards to the decisions  that are made.
Athletes are required to attend practice the day before a meet if they intend to compete. Special exceptions will be  made for those athletes who are participating in more than one sport. Leniency  will also be given to athletes who work after school. In both cases, work, practice, and game schedules must be given to the coaching staff as soon as  possible.
Tardiness
There is plenty of time between the end of  the school day and practice. Athletes, therefore, should not be late to  practice. Tardiness earns you extra running time and "half" an unexcused absence. We, as a coaching staff, will not tolerate tardiness. It is your  responsibility to be at practice on time. If you need to study with a teacher  after school, prior notice of this meeting must be given to a member of the  coaching staff. BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS!
Meet Day
All students are required to  ride the bus to each meet and to ride the bus back to the school after the meet.  Parents who want to pick up their athlete at the meet may do so but only with  the consent of a member of the coaching staff.
Varsity Lettering:
To earn a varsity letter in this outdoor season athletes must:
Adhere to the attendance policy
Work hard in all practices
Show team spirit whenever possible
Attend community involvement projects (as a member of the team)
Participate in fundraisers
Earn 12 points in regular season meets
Point System For Meets:

1st place = 8 pts
2nd place = 7
3rd place = 6
4th place = 4
5th place = 3
6th place = 2
7th place = 1
Your work ethic and attendance play a huge  role in whether or not you letter. Work hard, follow the rules, and do your  best.
We always need parent volunteers to help us  with the Booster Club and various activities, such as working at the concession  stand or scoring events. Any help a parent is able to provide will be greatly  appreciated.
We look forward to a great season with a  true Jaguar Team effort! This is the year that we make huge strides, so we  expect the best in order to be the best!  We are excited, and you should also be excited! GO JAGS!
