1- Reading activity on page 28/29 (student�s book) Exercise 3 only
You have to read the text on page 28 and insert the sentences on page 29 (exercise 3) in the right gaps. Remember that there is an extra sentence - the distractor -, that should be left out.

2- Browse through the articles page and then do the exercise at the bottom of the page.

3- Also do exercise 2 page 32 (student�s book) and exercise 4 page 33
You have to read the 8 short texts on page 32 exercise 2 (Models), then decide if the texts are formal, semi-formal or informal.
Then, in exercise 4a we have to choose the informal phrases and expressions to complete the informal reply letter and in 4b we have to choose the formal phrases and expressions to complete the formal letter.

              Have your book with you before reading these instructions otherwise they might sound a bit confusing.

Check the dictionaries and the other sites and remember to bring suggestions to class. I�ll be updating our webpage every week.

Homework for Sept. 27th / 28th

1- You should have a look at the FCE Handbook I gave you last class. Try to do the exercises that you are going to have in the Mock Test at least. If you want to have an idea of what might be in your test in terms of contents, have a look at the yellow pages at the back of your Student�s Book.

2- The letter I asked you to write as the 2nd Written Assignment. More details on page 33 (student�s book).

3- Don� forget to check out the www.tipsforbiz.com page, it�s a good way of developing your Business vocab for free!!!

4- You could also do the Exam Practice on page 40/41 (student�s book). Basically you just have to fill the gaps of the text on page 40 with a suitable word(one word only). If you have difficulties, try using the "cues" on page 41.

5- Do the exercise on Articles on page 13 in your Workbook.

Homework for Oct. 19th

2- Reading activity on page 16 and 17(Workbook), exercises 3 and 4.

3- Grammar exercises 1 and 2 on page 18. In 1A you have to choose between Infinitive or Gerund. In 1B you have to complete with the right preposition and in exercise 2 you have to use the word given (exactly as it is) to complete the sentence without changing the meaning of the sentence. Use up to 5 words.

Homework for Oct. 26th

1- I would like you all to think about what you�ll be doing for the project. As we have two more months to go, I think it is a good idea to start thinking about a topic or something. Have a look at the Student Info Sheet (that handout I gave you in the first class) to check the option you have. Next class we will be talking about that, ok ?
     If you have no ideas of how to start your search or need more materials, use the following links to find more information:

Bring in your materials next class so that we can talk about the Project.

*** Remember that you have the following choices:
         Show & Tell - Short oral presentation, 5-10 minutes. You should find materials related to a topic you would like to present and prepare your presentation.
          Written Project - Either a Film Review, Article Review or a Book Report. The Written Project should have 250-350 words. You should write a paper in the appropriate format and style..

2- Reading activity on page 22 and 23(Workbook), exercises 3 and 4.

4- Vocabulary and Use of English on page 44 (Student`s Book). In 1A you have to match the words in the blue box with the letters in the pictures. In 1B you have to choose the right alternative.

3- Vocabulary exercise (Student`s Book) page 48. See and Watch. What`s the difference???

Homework for November 9th

1- Written Assignment 3

Write a short composition either comparing two countries or two celebrities or famous people, you can also compare two cities or animals, etc.
(100-120 words)

2- Reading activity: Find out more about Halloween. Click here.

4- Also in the Student`s book, do the Phrasal Verbs exercise on page 59.

3- Vocabulary exercise (Student`s Book) page 58. A Who`s who? and B Job endings. Think about and write down more examples for each job ending as well.

5- In your Workbook, do exercises 2 & 3 on page 26. If you have time check the answers for these 2 exercises at home and bring doubts to class.

Homework for November 22nd

1- Handout on Comparatives that I gave you in class. Do exercises 3 & 4. Read the examples if you need help.

4- Remember that you are supposed to have handed in 3 Written Assignments and also that in December we will be having the Project presentations.

3- Vocabulary exercise (Student`s Book) page 59. A Use of English - Word Building and have a quick look at B Compound Nouns. We might do something connected to Compound Nouns in class next Friday.

2- In your Workbook, do the Review Exercises on pages 28 and 29. If you have time check the answers for these exercises at home and bring doubts to class.

Homework for November 30th

1- In your Sts. Book, page 66/67, do exercises 2A, 2B and finish 2C. We�ll correct these exercises in class next Saturday.
