GA OUAY MAT ONG (HONEY ROASTED CHICKEN)
You can use this recipe with a turkey or duck, too!
1 large, whole chicken
Marinade I:
(triple this for a turkey)
2 teaspoons pepper
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons sesame oil
Marinade II:
(triple this for a turkey)
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Combine Marinade I ingredients. Rub onto the outside
and inside of chicken. Let sit one hour in marinade. Set chicken
in baking pan. Combine Marinade II. Pour half of Marinade II over chicken
and in the inside.
Place chicken in oven at 375 degrees. Baste chicken
with the remaining marinade every 15 minutes until done. Cut the chicken
up and assemble on a serving platter. Serve with sticky rice and sliced
cucumbers as side dishes. The leftover pan drippings make a great dip for
the meat or over the rice. Have fun!!
