In 2004 they gained promotion to the Tokai League Division 2 where they were placed 3rd in 2004 and in 2005 were placed second and were subsequently promoted to the Tokai League Division 1.
In 2006 FC Gifu achieved promotion to the JFL by coming runners up in the Regional finals and therefore earning a promotion/relegation match against Honda Lock which they consequently won.
The aim for FC Gifu is to make it to the J2 league within 3 years.
