My Testimony  Drawing By Site Owner I started off questioning whether there was a God or not and setting out to find out. A co-worker mentioned that her brother was going to the Mormon Church. So I told her I was going to go and check it out. She went with me. I figured I could learn something so I promised God I'd stay until he told me to do otherwise. First I had to find out if I believed in God, I really was on the fence with this. I soon found out the church's teachings were not like anything I've ever heard before and that they were hard for me to take as my own. I started hearing many personal accounts of people who had demonic encounters. It was by these stories that I knew that there was a God and that there was two forces, one of God and one of Satan. My job was to find out which one this church was held by. To protect myself, I read all church writings with equal time with God's word. I soon noticed that the writings of the church underminded what was said in the Bible; hard to explain but the writings didn't support the word of God. My next question was, "Why did Jesus have to die on a cross". I asked the Bishop of the Mormon Church and he said that the reason wasn't known. I knew that when I got my answer to that question, I would know the truth of the gospel. |  | While out of work, I enrolled in a class to gain better job seeking skills. There was this guy there that would preach the gospel before every class. I thought he was a little touched at first. Than one day during class I felt that I should check out this guy's church, having no idea what kind of church he went to. I passed him a note that read, "I know you are of God, can we talk during lunch"? You should of seen his face after reading my note. Before we even crossed the street where we were going I asked to visit his church. I went that Sunday and the message was all about why Jesus had to die on the cross! I knew I had found the gospel truth at last. I went forward that day and got baptised soon after. Come to find out the guy that preached before class had wondered why he had signed up for the class because he didn't need to learn better job skills. He learned God had sent him there to do a work in me. On that day that I went forward during the alter call, I was shown much in way of scripture that proved that the teachings of the Mormon Church were not in line with God's word. That day ending my four year stay in the Mormon Church. The four years there was my schooling to find God. | | What I've Learned It was great to finally find out that Jesus paid our payment for our sins because we couldn't do it ourselves. I've also learned that the Bible is the completion of his testament that no one is to add to His word. And that no new gospel is coming by way of an angel appearing to someone. Satan has his angels and he makes his work seem as if it is God's. Closing Remarks Know your Bible well and pray always and God will lead you. It may not be a straight line to know just where he wants you right away; it took me 4 years to find my way. God used that church to teach me. He knew I was the kind of person that needed proof of something before I believed it. Those demonic stories were my proof that God is real and so is Satan. Since than of course, the Holy Spirit has taught me all these things and much more. Here is a verse to think about: And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
