Basalt High FBLA
FBLA is very involved with helping the community here.  During our first month of service, we walked dogs at the local kennel.  We believe that all of the members enjoyed this very much.  The experience has made many of us want to walk dogs on our free time.

During the second month of service, October, we did a food drive at the local supermarket.  By the time the food drive was in full gear, there were at least 20 members participating.  When it was over, we had to get two cars to take all of the food away.

Most recently, we have done two projects at the same time.  Some of the members helped organize a toy drive and some helped decorate the local chamber of commerce.  After decorating the "caboose", we went out for hot chocolate at our FBLA leader's restaurant.

Besides doing these things every month, we are running a store in our school called The Hole in the Wall.  Here, we sell snacks and drinks in between classes.  At the end of the year, the FBLA members take all of the money made from this, and go on a trip. Last year they went to New Orleans.

The FBLA club here at Basalt High School is growing every year.  This year, we have over 40 members.  This club has not only helped our community, but also students in our school.  "FBLA: Soaring to New Heights"!!!
