Alice Taylor is an Irish author, born in Newmarket, County Cork. She has written several novels, To School through the Fields, (which I highly recommend, by the way) Quench the Lamp, The Night Before Christmas, and The Village. She has also written a book of poetry Close to the Earth and a book for children, The Secrets of the Oak. I ran across her book To School through the Fields several years back as I was browsing through the library. Being enthralled with all things Irish I checked it out and found it to be a rather good read. Pleasent little book about growing up in the Irish countryside. She had several poems in the back of the book and I wrote down every single one. |
