Destiny
When you're driving past the burger store
After vowing you will gorge no more
And your will begins to groan and creak
And, "It can't hurt to take a peek,"
You tell youreslf - and in you drive
Casting vows and faith aside
And lo and behold! You're overwieght
Bulges wobbling with stumpy gait
And you cry in despair
"How came this to be?
I control it not -
It is my destiny."

And pondering these things
A mystery I see...
Does our destiny control us?
Or we our destiny?

When you're driving home at half past eight
And your mum's going to KILL you for being late
And the pedal you've pressed hard to the floor
Ignoring your inner warnings galore
And you think, "Perhaps the back roads I'll take,"
Then, "Nah, I'll make better time if I go straight."
And moments later in your mirror you see
The lights are flashing merrily.
And you tell your mum, "You see,
It was my fate, my destiny."

And pondering these things
A mystery I see...
Does our destiny control us?
Or we our destiny?
