And
see the confluence of dreams
That
clashed together in our night,
One
river born of many streams
Roll
in one blaze of blinding light!
George William Russell
Like
several other clans, the Tremere have been simply devastated as of late. Their old Primogen, Camilla Delirou, was
killed by an Assamite assassin; Detective Jamal Jeffers was apparently
diablerized by an unknown assailant; Dorian Chambers was assimilated into the
Tremere consciousness; Ganix and Gorix, the two Gargoyles in the old Baltimore
chantry, were destroyed. Only two
permanent Tremere operatives are now in Baltimore, and their power is waning
even now.
Reuben Shalowitz
Long
pegged as an unambitious former ghoul and nothing more, Reuben has proven, if nothing
else, his intelligence. He has managed
to gain his current position of Regent, however temporary, through reliability
and skill, and he is currently working to keep that position for as long as he
can. His influence amongst the mortal
sorcerers of Baltimore and his centuries of experience are staunch allies in
his attempts.
Konrad
Bethelmann
Konrad
is considered by many a weakling, a pathetic excuse for Kindred who is
obviously an accidental embrace. Their
perceptions are, however, not entirely correct. Although he is bent over with sorrow and remorse, his embrace was
not a mistake - he is a quite intelligent individual and his mastery of
Thaumaturgical magic is nothing at which one should scoff.
Lillian
O'Heagan
Lillian
is the newly-embraced childe of Reuben Shalowitz, and as such has been somewhat
spoiled (both in her unlife and her life, coincidentally). She was a dabbler in the occult, and an
enthusiastic researcher of all things supernatural, but her greatest triumph
came when she managed to access true magick - a mere flicker of an eldritch
candle flame, but true sorcerous arts nonetheless. This rapidly drew Reuben's attention, and the Regent of Baltimore
quickly snapped up the promising book worm from her dormitory at John's Hopkins
University and embraced her, bringing her and her inquisitiveness into the
Tremere fold.
Venessa
Alexander
A
transfer from the Cleveland Chantry, Reuben sees Venessa as more of a nuisance
and a once-warm body than anything else.
Given warnings about her trustworthiness by her former Regent, Reuben
has relegated the ambitious Venessa to a position of errand-runner for the
Chantry. Thus far she has been unable
to get a word in edgewise, between learning a new ritual here and fetching Reuben
some sea salt there. She intends on
proving her worthiness to him and getting out from under his constant gaze, but
this is a task that could prove to be quite difficult.
Tremere
Holdings
Due to
the proximity of their old Chantry to the Enoch Pratt Free Library, the Tremere
have managed to keep their grip on that building, and many other libraries
throughout Baltimore. They have
recently acquired the Evergreen house and its grounds - the Italianate mansion
holds a massive occult library and has more than enough room for the Tremere to
meet and study. With the addition of
Lillian O'Heagan to the clan, the Tremere now have their foot in the door of
both John's Hopkins University, allowing them access to the vast stores of
knowledge and learning there, and the Johns Hopkins Hospital, its laboratories,
and its blood banks.
