All
this hideous doubt, despair, and dark confusion of the soul of lonely man must
know, for he is united to no image save that which he creates himself.
Thomas Wolfe
The Nosferatu
have an undeniable and unshakable grip on the very streets of the city - or at
least their underbellies. Although the
extent of their pervasive influence is not known by any by the Sewer Rats
themselves, it is broadly acknowledged that their power is rampant and their
knowledge encyclopedic. The paranoid
might say that every animal in the city sees with a Nosferatu's eyes; that
behind every computer sits a Sewer Rat; and in every shadows lurks an unseen presence. Fear and paranoia, however, may be the
Nosferatu's greatest weapons.
The
Master of the Undercity
His
name long forgotten by all but the most ancient of Baltimore's elders, the
Master of the Undercity is, behind the Prince, probably the most powerful
creature in Baltimore. Their are many
rumors about him: that he can see all that occurs in the city; that he has a
secret spy network on every street corner and every salon; that he has attained
a level of existence beyond that of the vampire; that he in fact controls the
Prince himself. None have been proven
or corroborated, although he, of all people, has not dispersed these rumors.
Johannes
Johannes
has known prominence only in recent nights, as his clanmates Alana and Karsten
have both fallen in battle against the Sabbat.
He still does what he has always done; he lurks in the shadows of the
World Wide Web, and knows whatever it knows; he can slip into any system with
the skill and stealth that his brethren enter into physical buildings and
extract the necessary information. He
is feared and respected; and rightly so.
Nosferatu
Holdings
Although
the Nosferatu dwell in the sewers and generally attempt to hide themselves from
the proverbial light of day, they do wield some influence, notably over the
sewers and its maintenance, the subways and light rail of Baltimore, and Iron
Mountain, the largest record management company in the United States. It would seem prudent for the Nosferatu to
pick up where Aaron Jefferson left off, but they have yet to make any public
moves to take up those businesses.
