Don't
By Julie List
Don't abuse me, Don't use me
My heart has been broken
Many times before
Don't take my hand
And lead me
Unless you are here to stay
Don't change me
If you don't want me the way I am
Someone else does
Don't cheat on me
If you have the desire to
Then you shouldn't be with me in the first place
Don't say you love me
I don't want to hear it
I don't believe it
Don't compare me to everyone else
I am not your ex-girlfriend
I can never be your ex-girlfriend
Don't hide from me
If you have a problem
It's called conversation
Don't think about yourself
There is more to you
If you want to be with me
Don't judge me
You aren't perfect
If you are, I don't want you
Don't worry
If for one day things aren't perfect
It's only normal
Don't abuse me, Don't use me
My heart has been broken
Many times before
Proud to Be an
American
By Julie List
It's no longer safe to leave your house
It's no longer safe to stay in your house
You cannot go grocery shopping
You cannot watch your child skip to school
FEAR
The country is tearing itself apart
The country is dying
Flags are bleeding, red to white
Flags are dying, strand by strand
DEATH
This world is full of hate
This world in no longer safe
People don't care about each other
People are destroying
HUMAN-FLAW
So many deaths, so many tears
So many people, so many lives
No healing, no love
No freedom, no joy
EMPTINESS
Love is gone, it has disappeared
Love is dead, will it ever be reborn?
PAIN, SUFFERING, HEARTACHE, TEARS, EMPTINESS
Will we ever survive?
Or...is this the end?
It Wasn't Worth It
By Julie List
It's a period of sadness,
a period of shame.
When you find out how the
face does not fit the name.
Someone who you cared for,
someone who was kind.
Always turns out to be the
someone who destroys your mind.
This period of hurt is a time
to learn life first hand.
Cause you, my friend, my self.
will be the one, the only,
all alone, left to stand.
To stand and become stronger,
or to let your soul die because
someone tore it apart.
This is your choice,
so please choose wisely.
For if you don't,
it will just happen again.
And then you will have no more
you to hold for yourself.
Sunshine Shower
By Julie List
The cool rain graces the warm earth
The bright sun shines through nature's waterfall
The one time man does not complain of rain
Is the time it reminds him of life
The sun shines brightly
The rain still comes down
Rainbows form a connection
Although these rainbows are just reminders
Reminders of the unspoken link
between rain and sun
This reminder is
too beautiful to behold
For what is rain without the sun
And the sun without the rain?
Each loses its purpose
And they become useless
But for now and all eternity they do coincide
And they have their purpose
Together they provide
Safety, life and warmth
Together they provide beauty
The sun and the rain
The sun shines through the crystal rain
To form rays of brilliant light
These rays touch all people
This combination of sun and rain
These rays can never be seen
like this, beautiful, precious, graceful
For the combination, the love
of the sun and rain can never be topped
Forever they are together,
one alongside the other
Working separate against the earth,
But working together to create rainbows
Why?
By Julie List
Why do bad things happen to good people?
Life is full of pain, it is true
For broken bridges are not overdue
Why does a single event make us frown?
Why does a single word put us down?
If life is precious, why do we cry?
If life is precious, why do we lie?
There is so little time, and everything matters
For not too far ahead, your heart will cease its patters
Just love all, and do not hate
For you do not know what is your fate
You could die tomorrow
And leave people nothing but sorrow
So watch what you say
You could break someone's day
Until you are everyone, and everyone is you
Do not hurt another's feelings, for they are hurting, too
Be kind, be gentle, and love all
For otherwise you will be taking a great fall
A fall into a life of no love
For nothing will be felt from the skies above
No sunny days for you
Only the rain as wet as dew
Sorry to say this, but is is true
For there is not enough caring, that itself is overdue
So I leave this up to you, to change the world...
You alone make a difference...
These are the things you can do:
Smile
Open a door
Tip a hard worker
Help elderly across the street
Give spare change to the needy
Volunteer
Give someone a hug
Wipe your feet off before you go in someone's house
Make a joke
Visit a retirement home
Sing in the shower (that can be to other's amusement)
Buy some flowers
Dance down the street
Laugh like never before
Bring your teacher an apple
Clean your room (for once)
Help with the dishes
Make dinner
Tell someone you love them
...and much, much more....
THINK OF WHAT YOU CAN DO, AND WRITE IT DOWN IN MY GUESTBOOK...
I WILL ADD IT ON MY NEXT JOURNAL (WITH YOUR NAME, IF YOU CHOOSE TO LEAVE IT)...
Remember...a line so simple yet means so much...
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return"
Your
By Julie List
Dedicated to Grandmother Cordine List
You hands, so fragile with age
But worn and rough
Told the story of your life.
They said,
"I am strong, I am me."
Your face, so kind and genuine
Lightened up this world of harshness.
Your smile, so clear and loving
Warmed the hearts of many people.
Your soul, so pure and true
Shows off your beautiful heart.
Your eyes, the most beautiful of all.
Doe eyes, possessing innocence and grace
They are how I remember you.
For every time I look in the mirror
I see those same oak brown staring
Back on my own face.
You were my blood, you were my life.
You are me.
Forever you will remain alive in my heart.
