For 1997, Chevrolet underscores even further that pickup trucks aren�t just for hauling and towing anymore. Instead of black vinyl seats and an AM radio, today�s trucks have the option of leather interiors and compact disc players.
There�s always room for improvement, however. For proof, look no further than the third-door option on Chevrolet C/K 1500 and S-10 Extended-Cab pickups. The third door allows easy access to maximize the extended cab�s space. Whether it�s people or cargo being carried, extended cab trucks with the optional third door provide roominess and comfort.

The front passenger seat in the C/K and S-10 slides forward to provide easy access to the rear cab area. When returned to its original position, it needs no readjustment.
Both pickups feature dual cupholders for rear-seat passengers and a slide-out storage drawer when the optional front high-back bucket seats are ordered.
The C/K�s third door is on the passenger side.
Rear bench on the Extended-Cab C/K accommodates up to three adult passengers.
The rear seatback on the C/K Extended Cab folds down for added loading convenience. The lower portion also folds up to create more open storage area.
The S-10 is the only compact pickup with the option of a driver-side third door. No other nameplate, with the exception of other GM models, offers this useful feature.
The S-10�s third door is on the driver�s side to provide easy, no-hassle access to the rear compartment and also feature third-door side impact safety beams. There is also a fold-down jump seat for an extra passenger.
Chevrolet�s line of Extended-Cab pickups, with optional third door, are ideal for the installation of mobility aids, such as wheelchair lifting devices. In addition, the GM Mobility Program For Persons with Disabilities will reimburse a buyer up to $1,000 toward any aftermarket driver or passenger adaptive equipment they may require for the 1997 Chevy S-10 Pickup. This includes �alerting devices� for drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing.
