| December 2000: After recent selection to the ACT Academy of Sport Orienteering squad for 2001, Ben takes out the much coverted Wednesday night Orienteering race. The Canberra Times pick up the story "...a dazzling display of high-speed orienteering." The selection means he has to run for the Canberra Coackatoos in at least half the Qantas National Orienteering League races, reducing his representation of his beloved Southern Arrows |
| Sunday 28/01/01: In a silly display of athlete preparation, Ben fails to take on enough carbos and runs into trouble, hitting the wall majorly and fails to finish the second day of the High-O at Falls Creek. Ben learn a good lesson today, but one that he shouldn't need with a background in the Sports Sciences |
