| You see it all the time. People come up with ideas that their company dismisses as not reasonable. Then a company comes along that takes the idea and turns it into pure genius. Years ago, I worked in the restaurant business. For those of you who never have, restaurants are targets for armed robbery because of the ease people can get away with it. Small staffs, mostly cash money, and a group of mostly younger people, who still have their whole lives ahead of them.......meaning there most likely won't be any heroes in the group. Anyway, years ago I suggested that we arm the managers of the restaurants. Not too many gunmen will look for a fair fight. They pick chain-type businesses because they have the advantage. the staff won't be armed. Many of these small "Mom and Pop" stores and businesses have a gun under the counter. But your local Burger King has a 22 year old kid running the joint. The only thing this person is armed with is a bunch of |

And the biggest rule, "Don't be a hero".In fact, most of these businesses won't allow their managers to protect themselves in a violent situation. They tell you you can't hit a customer, even if |
| you're struck first. I find this troubling. And I have voiced my concerns on a few occasions. Well, It's nice to see that my suggestion has finally been implemented. But of course, not by the company I suggested it to. Leave it to McDonalds to be the leader in the Field. As shown above, McDonalds has finally made it a fair fight. Arm them all, I say.......I bet the armed robberies at McDonalds are cut by 80% over the course of the next year. Remember, bullies on pick on people smaller than themselves. This evens things up. When I was younger I was an athlete. I played a few sports that no matter what size you were, you had access to an "Equalizer" (Not that stupid show from the 80's) I played Hockey, and there was the stick that made even a 5 foot guy feared by his peers on the ice if he decided to swing it. And in golf, there was always the trusty 5 iron to keep your opponents at bay. Anyway, applause McDonalds. Thanks for finally bringing my idea to fruition. I wonder if there is any cash for me in this development...... |
