Cold air induction-

One of the easiest first mods to do.  It should not only increase power but also fuel economy.
If you own a VN onwards commodore you can choose from a wide variety of brands and styles.
The best value one IMO is the VS-VT Supercharged 6 factory setup.
It can be purchased complete for well under $100 from your local holden dealer.
Here are the part numbers and diagram for the V8 one (the V6 has a different, bigger one)
Installation takes around 5 minutes.
the bottom half of your standard air filter box has to be removed and replaced with the new one.  It can be modified to fit the new CAI but its easier to replace it.
The scoop side is held in place by two large screws, screwed into the radiator plastic top cover.
Replacing the paper air filter with a re-usable performance one like a "finer filter, O2 RUSH" type is also recomended.
VN-VP's may have to adjust the bonnet clearance by screwing the bonnet latch out slightly.
Now your ready to test it out. It becomes more noticable at night when the air is cold.
Combine this with a new exhaust/extractors combo and it will feel like a diferent car.
This is the first two mods I recomend for anyone with a commodore.
Power increase is typically around 5-8Kw with the scoop, and upto 25Kw with the exhaust
Here is what it should look like
