The summer Nancy and I met. I was 20, she was 18, and we got married 3months later. Such a stud huh? That was my bike, 1950 HD 74 panhead, flh cams, solid lifters that clacked so loud you could hear me coming for miles around, 8 over front end with an 18 wheel which brought it down a little and get thisno front brake. I hit the ground a lot because of that but I was young, invincible and stupid. The exhaust pipes were straight cut offs with internal baffles to make it legal. What a trip it all was. In my heart I know that if I hadnt sold it I would have died a long time ago. Sometimes you have to move on in lifeor not.
(I didnt have my own camera back then and this picture was taken by a John Bioncoli who is from somewhere in NYC. Im sure Ive spelled his name wrong but his brother has all the negatives, or he did, and if anyone knows this guy have him write me at ([email protected]). What you see here is a bad photo of a fading print.) |
