News 10/04

*Back for more in 2004! It has been a busy year off for the band. First and foremost, Skinny Jay and his wife had their first child, a beauty of a daughter who will be a year old soon, with reports of another on the way, his new nickname is "Breeder". Lonsone Sal moved to Florida in pursuit of a drug smuggling, er, I mean photography career. Salsa Dave has spent much of the last year touring the world with the Queers as part of Joe's ever-revolving line-up. He will also be touring Europe with Johnny Jughead's band next month. Erick Fromindiana is now living quietly in Ohio, building and repairing stringed instruments. We will be playing a few shows in the beginning of November, check show listings for details. Our full length CD "We have come for your Mothers" is still available through the fine folks at Diaphragm Records.

News 4/03

*It's coming down people, it is now in writing. Our first full length "We have come for your Mothers" will be out late May/ early June on Diaphragm Records. It will be twice the party because it will coincide the release of the long awaited, much talked about split 7" with out pals Pwince. The "Cari" split will feature our hit love song "Rub one out" and the already famous Pwince classic "Teen Queenie".
A release show at the Brass Rail is in the works.

News 3/03

*It's finally starting to thaw out here in the midwest, that means we are approaching the touring season. Plans for the Fat Ass/Snakeskin Machine Gun "Polytoxic Rock-n-Roll Roadshow" tour are still on but details are sparse at the moment. Info will be posted as we recieve it.

*It is rumored that an unidentified contributer has offered to put up the cash to finally get our ill-awaited full length "We have come for your Mothers" pressed up. We have talked to this rock mogul and are currently working out the details. The disc will be distributed by the fine folks at Diaphragm Records.

*Other news in the Fat Ass camp is Skinny Jay's wifey Oona, is pregnant w/ their first little one!!, let's hope he doesn't start collecting kids like he does army stuff and basses... Congrats to them!! Sal is working his first "real" job pouring concrete, he's worked more in the last 2 weeks than he has in the last 4 years. And Dave and Erick recently released a new CD w/ their other band the Beautys.

*Don't forget to support Magilla's and the Brass Rail shows on a regular basis. The scene is slowly getting better and we give a Fat Ass salute to Matt Cotten and Kevin Roulette for keeping it going.

News 12/21

*We made it back from the Rumblers tour all in one piece. It was a fun but freezing trek through the mid-west out to the east coast but we made the best of it. It was great to party with our old pal's Big Don Switchblade & the Teen Idols.
We pulled some classic all-nighters, the Punkrocknight.com house in Indy, the Copyrights house in Carbondale, Haircuts That Hurt cool pad in Cinci (complete w/ pool table and Pac-Man machine) the Cripplers house in St. Louis all were killer hosts.
Thanks to all who put us up along the way. One of which was a guy named Steve Brown . who not only has a cool pad with lot's of Elvis stuff, but also has one of the best yo-yo collections ever. It turns out that guy Steve Brown is one of seven people in the world who hold the title of yo-yo master. Needless to say it was a rad experience of yo-yo and spin-top mayhem. Steve also sent each of us on our way with our very own Duncan-Pro model yo-yo.
And a special thanks to Ma & Pa Yonkers for letting us fill up their septic tank and drink their Pepsi.
We also frequented the finer eating establishments along the way. Shapiro's deli in Indianapolis, Arturo's Tacos in Chicago, Niki's Pizza in Detroit, Houndog's Pizza in Columbus, Jim's steaks in Philly, Banana Brazil in Danbury, Dottie's Diner in Cleveland, kept us all fat and happy.
Another favorite east coast hang we spent alot of time time at was the Wawa
There actually was a real bar fight this time out, Big Don decked some frat boy because he was singing Greatful Dead tunes at the top of his lungs and wouldn't shut up while we were trying to eat. That fuck really did get what he deserved, and we promptly got kicked out.
Most of the bands we played with sucked But there were some that stood out from the crowd. Black Rose Diary is a killer
rock based punk band from Eerie, PA. We hope to bring them to our neck of the woods soon. East coast heroes the Boils blew us away in Philadelphia, it was great to see them still going strong after all these years. The Bitter Hearts made a shitty Jersey gig tolerable. But the coolest by far was ex-Agnostic Front singer Roger Miret and his band the Disasters, man they rocked. Get their cd if you come across it. This band is amazing!

*Feeling a little like used up whores, Sal, Dave & Erick are looking forward to upcoming Fat Ass shows.
See shows page for details.

*The ball is indeed rolling on the Fat Ass/ Pwince "Cari" split 7". Diaphragm Records is already getting airplay for the record and talking it up on the Diaphragm site. Keep your eyes peeled for this soon to be classic.

*We are also making plans for a summer 2003 tour with Nashville's Snakeskin Machine Gun.
The tour is tenatively titled "the Polytoxic Rock-n-Roll Roadshow". Look out for this rolling nightmare!

News 11/11

*The last month or so has been a blur. We were on the road alot. Worth mentioning were shows in Bloomington w/ the Queers, South Bend w/ our pals the Urinal Mints, and a few fun ones in the Fort. It was good to see our pals the Independents as well as our Tuscon buddies the 440's who were treated to an extra special Monday night edition of "Redneck Punkrocknight" at Magilla's which included Football, $1.50 lap dances and of course, punk rock. A nutty month indeed.

*In December, Sal, Dave, and Erick will be backing up Donnie Switchblade's band, the Rumblers on a tour with the Teen Idols .

12/2 Chicago, IL @ the Double Door
12/3 Carbondale, IL @ Hanger 9

12/12 Rockville Ctr/Long Island, NY
12/13 Philadelphia, PA @ the Pontiac Grill
12/14 Danbury, CT
12/15 Boston, MA @ the Middle East

If we are playing a town near you, come on out!

News 9/29

*Played a killer show at the Melody last night. The Indianapolis crowd really knows how to do it right. Let us go on record saying that Greg Brenner and the crew at Punkrocknight.com rule the school. There is no finer mid-west venue.
The show was a benefit for the west Memphis Three. Please check out the site and draw your own conclusion.
Were were happy to be chosen to play the show.
It was also Angie Taksony's AND Andy Fudd's Birthday bash so it was hangovers for everyone!!

* We have alot going on in the month of October. Upcoming shows with the 440's , Utah's own Thunderfist , Ex-Misfit Bobby Steele's band the Undead should provide the October rock.

News 8/31

*Not much going on at the moment, But we have played with some real cool road bands here recently. The Chicken Hawks, Swampass, the Boneyard Devils, the Vibrolas, the Urinal Mints, have all rolled throught the Fort to rock with us in the last two months.

*We played a fun as hell show in Dayton w/ our pals the Goochers and Dayton's own the motherfucking Give Ups.
If you are not hip to these bands yet, get on it, now!

* Our song "Shut up and Drink" has been chosen for the upcoming Very Small Records double CD compilation, "Songs about Drinking". Look for it sometime after the first of the year.

*Looking forward to hosting the Misfits at the Basement on September 5th and the Toilet Boys at Columbia Street on October 10th. This ought to be a nutty one folks.

News 6/25

*We have once again emerged from Sound Mill studios.
The result being our new LP "We have come for your Mothers". 13 new songs about getting fucked up, all in just under 21 minutes.
Now we just need to find a label to put this baby out.

* Sal just got a brand new cherry red Flying V. Look out for that pointy guitar kids, that thing will give you VD.
Now if I could just get mine up and running.

*Played a show with the legendary Hangmen. Man what an amazing band, still kicking it after all these years. If you are not hip to this band, get into them...NOW! Their new lp comes out on august 6th.

News 5/27

*A couple of things going on at the moment......

*Sal lived through his "Birthday bash your head in". Two shows in one night.
First we opened for Knuckle Drager at Sneaky Pete's, where Sal drank a six pack on stage.

Then after four or so shots, a couple of mixed drinks and two Valiums later, we take the stage at Legend's.
We played pretty well considering Sal's condition, and even though he fell down a time or two, he never missed a chord (o.k. maybe just one or two). The night ended with Sal passed out in a pool of his own vomit at the bar. Punk rock baby!!

* We will be releasing a split 7" with local heroes Pwince.
The "Carrie" split will feature one track from each band and should be out by the end of the summer.

*Back to Soundmill studios this week to record a full length with ace producer Neal Parnin at the helm.

News 4/30

*We are looking forward to being back in action in the month of May.

*Dave made it back alive from the Eyeliners tour all in one piece, it's good to have him back! Another big fat "thanks man" goes out to fill-in Cliff Gaither for stepping up to the plate and just going for it. You had some big shoes to fill and you did a killer job.

*Unfortunately Dave's first show back was not meant to be. It appears the power circuts in the record store just didn't have the amperage to power our gear. And as a result. our set had to be cut short. However, Austin, TX's Same Day Service was able to pull off a complete set without any problems.

* Back to the clubs on May 14th at CSW with our pals (from Tampa) Flat Stanley, and the Polyplushcats. We are usually on our worst behavior whenever either of these fine bands roll through town, who knows what it will be like with all of us on the same bill.

News 4/9

* The mighty Fallstaff All-Stars were victorious against the Two-Man Advantage road team 6-2.
Leading the team was our own Skinny jay and Lonesome Sal. The Swinney Cup trophy will reside in our practice place until we meet again.

News 4/02

*Made it home from the "Beef Jerky, Budweiser & Blown fuses tour" all in one piece.
Though we played pretty rough(see the Beautys message board for more on that), the shows were all great and we were fortunate enough to play w/ some of the best bands going right now. Parlay, Swampass, the Catheters, the Cripplers, and Hemi-Cuda rock the fucking world so do yourselves a favor and check all these acts out! Also worth checking into is our pal Jay's band, the Last of the V8's.

*In the course of the 5 days we were out:

LONESOME SAL, almost broke his elbow after being tackled by Ernie of Parlay at Fred's, was a guest beer taster at the Bud brewery as well as being the all-time play station champ in the van.

ERICK, ate a pound of beef jerky and didn't shit for nearly two whole days.

SKINNY JAY, barfed his ass off behind a hardware store in Indy, and bought the new Fender Steve Harris (of Iron Maiden) model precision bass while in K.C.

CLIFF,
clogged up the shitter at the Diaphragm Records offices so bad it broke through the celing and flooded the kitchen area. That's what they get for having Fat Ass on their label.

* Other cool shit we visited was Authur Bryants BBQ in K.C, the St. Louis arch, the Musicians Friend clearance center(where Jay bought his bass), and of course, the Budweiser brewery in St. Louis. It was there that Erick took his first sip of beer in 15 years, word has it he still hates it.
We also saw a Stealth B-2 bomber heading out to pay a little visit to you-know-who.
We all felt a little patriotism pump through the veins.

* we especially wat to thank Tommy from Swampass for the pep-talk that resulted in us not running home with our tails between our legs. Thanks alot man.

* And a big round of applause goes out to Diamond Ike Midnight, president of Diaphragm Records for letting us practice in the office before we took off for Indy. We know you love us!!

News 3/02

*All the amps are re-tubed and we are gearing up for a blast through the mid-west. Indiana, Ohio, Missouri dates are on the horizon, see shows page for details.

* We will be hosting a punk-rock hockey game on 4/6 as Go Kart Records hockey punks Two Man Advantage roll into town. The all-star Falstaff team will be defending the Fort against this un-defeated road team. Followed by a rock show at Legends.
Check back for details.
