"Retro - Capri"
Following all the press speculation of late, regarding the production of, by Ford , of a "New" "Retro - Capri " , apparently based on either of the Mark 1 Capri or American Mustang.
This was assumed to follow moves from Volkswagen , when they "Retro" the Beetle and the now to come "Camper Van of the Sixties."
Due to what the Capri280 was about and why it was produced , the Register approached Ford Motor Company for their views on the matter .
Ford Motor Company Press Office issued this Statement............
"" We too have heard these rumors , But I can confirm that there are no plans to build a retro Capri , based on the Ford Capri , in any form , in any Country. "
They Enclosed some original brochure prints of the truly final Capri......

In the light of speculation of a "new" Capri in the press , some saying that there was to be one and others saying not , the Register approached Ford for their opinion on the matter in the light of the statement that was made earlier last year...........
"Whilst we are delighted to learn of your interest in this particular model of vehicle, we must confirm our previous position that there are no plans to re-launch the Capri , and regret we would be unable to comment further on what is purely the speculation of the press"
