| A starboard tack close reach on the main and #3 jib with Iron Mike steering. Having departed Clinton (CT) Harbor (Duck Island Roads) at 0415 hrs and haping to make the fair current at Hell Gate (70NM) by no later than 2100 hrs. It is good that the boat is moving at between 4.0 and 5.5 kts through the water in a fair current which gets the speed over the Long Island Sound bottom at between 6.5 and 7.2 kts.
