GROWING UP:
Jacelyn
is pictured here on her Mom's lap together with her sisters. Some interesting excerpts............She
loved to hide under the bed and in cupboards......a brave little girl yah? not
afraid of the dark...........And when other tots were all crying for their Mom
on their first day in pre-school, Jacelyn thought" Why are they crying?
Isn't school an interesting place?" An adventurous little girl, she was
always delighted when the light bulb she was holding lit up brightly in those
dark places that she was hiding in. Well, not only did she hide in cupboards,
she climb onto them as well.......Out of mischief? Nah, to take a peep at a
neighbour who was moving house. Guess what.....she fell from the bed and hurt
her forehead..........Poor thing!
In Primary school, Jacelyn was a
prefect. There was once when she and a fellow prefect played a prank on another
prefect. Urm just now did I mention "non-mischief"? I guess you can't
blame her for that coz that prefect deserves it for bossing around. I'm sure
you'd done a lot of these things as well at that age...Or perhaps you're still
doing it now! ( The prank- Hiding that girl's bag in a cupboard. To think that
the principal was informed.......Finally all was resolved through the help of
another prefect who "found" the bag)
SCHOOLDAYS:
Was a Rugby player at Cedar
2 Years as a
CJCian, thereafter to NUS Arts Faculty.............
However she gave
up her University studies coz of Star Search.............
And was crowned
the winner!
AFTER STAR
SEARCH........
Wasn't too smooth since she was always given "cool"/forgettable
roles because of her cool looks............The turn came later when she was
given the role of "HE XIAN GU" in the "Legend of the Eight
Immortals". She won the hearts of audience! More roles in shows like
" Are you my Brother?" , "Coup de Scorpion", "Voices
Within" featured her as a bubbly, lively, easy-going.....gal. That perhaps
shed her "Ice Queen image". RECENTLY, she played the role of
"Invincible East" in "The Legendary Swordsman" as someone
who lost his manhood for the sake of mastering a skill. Again she captivated the
hearts of more audience as a cross-dresser. After all not many could bring out
the "taste" in such a role. In this year's Star Awards, she is
nominated as Best Actress
for her role in The Legendary Swordsman.
RECENT
YEARS ('98-'01)
Recent
years saw her increase in popularity. She was voted one of the top 10 most
popular actresses in the Yr2000 Star Awards. In her upcoming serial "Love
me, Love me not", which will debut on 17 May 7pm, she will be singing the
songs in it. (a solo one titled "Xiang Ta Bu Xiang Ta" and a duet with
her co-star Chen Hanwei) Perhaps an album could be on the way.....
