FAST BY-LAWS Below! Fairbanks Arctic Swim Team BY-LAWS I. Membership 1. Members in good-standing are those individuals with paid monthly or daily balances. Membership entitles individuals to admission to current and future workouts, and all other team-related activities. 2. Dues are to be paid by the end of the month. Due rates are variable, according to attendance. In general, monthly rates are $15 per student, $40 per faculty/staff/other. Individuals may also make payments on a daily basis for $5 per swim. 3. Members are expected to behave in a conduct promoting the ideals of the club, the university, the LMSC, and USMS. II. Meetings (Workouts) 1. Meetings (Workouts) will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 7-8:30pm, and Saturdays from 9-11am at the Patty Center Pool on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. Workouts will occur throughout the whole of the calendar year, including the summer months. Dates and times are subject to change according to the availability of this facility. 2. Workouts are commenced by any officer by writing the prescribed warmup on a dry-erase board and displaying it on the pool deck. 3. Special meetings will be announced a minimum of one week in advance, and usually occur at least three times per year. Such meetings will be decided upon in during general workout times. III. Officers 1. Officers will be elected at a general meeting by all those club members present. Vacancies will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Terms are indefinite. 2. The duties of the officers are outlined in the club constitution. IV. Procedure for Amendments Any provision of these by-laws not prescribed by the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the LMSC, or USMS may be amended at any meeting of the membership of the Club by a two�thirds vote of the members voting. At least two days notice must be given to every member of any proposed amendment. V. Dissolution Upon dissolution, the net assets of the club will not inure to the benefit of any private individual or corporations, but will be distributed to the LMSC or USMS to be used exclusively for educational or charitable purposes, or, if the LMSC or USMS is not then in existence, or is not then a corporation which is exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and to which contributions, bequests and gifts are deductible under Sections 170 (c) (2), 2055 (a) (2) and 2522 (a) (2) thereof, such assets shall be distributed to such a corporation, to be used exclusively for educational or charitable purposes.
