It's hard to believe you were ever that tiny!
Jeremy began his life in a cramped but busy uterus. It seemed he was always fighting to stay tucked up inside! Finally, at 32 weeks, he could hold on no longer and was born into this world.
What a surprise blessing!
His big brother Matt and big sister Alicia were thrilled to see thier tiny new brother.
We were worried for a while when he needed emergency surgery on his third day, but he began to slowly make progress after that. Jeremy was moved to Good Samaritan FINALLY at 10 days of age. He learned how to nurse and mom learned NOT to pull a sleeping baby off a breast without the use of a finger. Jeremy came home at 25 days. YEAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
Over the next few months we dealt with breast/mouth thrush and severe reflux. Jeremy began to see pediatric gastroenterologists and I got support from the breastfeeding group at Brockton Hospital. After 3 months of thrush, we tried a new protocol that worked. God Bless RoseAnn Berwald!  We also found that Jeremy was allergic to dairy and soy, so we removed them from his diet and started reglan and tagamet for his tummy. He went through a few exploratory surgeries to rule out other serious illnesses. It was determined that the reflux was a byproduct of poor gastrointestinal motility and that he would probably outgrow it. At 18 months, he finally showed some signs of outgrowing it. He started throwing up less than 3 times a day. Then down to once, then maybe a few times a week. Now, as long as he has his meds, he doesn't throw up at all.
Best off all, he has outgrown the allergies!
Yippppppeeeeeee!!
