А иногда даже накладывали краски прямо на фото.
Расцвет Pin-Up пришелся на 30-е годы, когда на обложках журналов появились элегантные жизнерадостные девушки в развевающихся платьях, обнажающих ноги почти до середины бедер, смеющиеся лукавые красавицы, позволяющие лифу платья оголить плечи и соскользнуть почти до груди - правда на большее пуританская американская культура разрешение не давала. Идея красотки на обложке имела невероятный успех. Один за другим появлялись журналы с красотками на обложках, причем, никакой связи между содержанием журнала и красоткой с обложки не было, и вскоре появились любители, покупавшие их только из-за обложек. Появились и журналы, львиную часть в которых занимали изображения девушек - Pin-Up (Beauty Parade, Eyeful, Flirt, Titter, Whisper, Wink).
Страницы с девушками выдирались из журналов, прикалывались в кабинах водителей - дальнобойщиков, на стены холостяцких жилищ, и смеющиеся милашки и получили прозвище Pin-Up Girls (от англ. pin-up приколоть, прикрепить к стене + (girl) девушка).
Карьера в Pin-Up стала становиться престижной. Иные издатели платили до $1000 за картинку, половина иной раз доставалась модели, позировавшей художнику. Доставалась им и не меньшая слава, многие из них очень скоро появились на обложках журналов в качестве фотомоделей, став настоящими звездами - The Great American Pin-Up Girls
В сороковые, на картинках из солдатских календарей и журналов смеялись и шутили самые обыкновенные "девочки-из-соседнего-дома". На бортах самолетов, на башнях танков и на гильзах снарядов красовались лукавые блондинки.
Эротизм Pin-Up проявлялся как бы невзначай: юбка цеплялась за ручку двери и рвалась, в розовых трусиках лопалась резинка, и они падали к туфелькам как раз тогда, когда руки девушки были заняты...
Забавные сценки разыгрывались в хорошо знакомых декорациях маленьких американских городов, живые и точные детали фона подчеркивали "реализм" пикантных ситуаций. Длинноногие девчонки без трусов резвились в подробном и убедительном мире американской повседневной культуры, придавая ему невероятную и притягательную странность.
Великая Традиция Pin-Up требует, чтобы "главное" показалось не впрямую, а только намеком. Упавшие трусики, дравшаяся на ветру юбка, свет дверного проема, насквозь пронзивший легкую ткань пеньюара, не открывали того, что есть у каждой девушки.
Позы девушек всегда были естественны, но для рисунка всегда выбирался момент, когда ничего нельзя увидеть.
В пятидесятых Gil Elvgren и его изобретательные коллеги Edward D'Ancona, Earl Moran и Edward Runci попытались привлечь внимание публики, резко обострив сексуальный аспект Pin-Up.
Появились изображения девушек, загорающих нагишом и прикрытых только полотенцем или каким-нибудь веером, наиболее отважные рисовальщики даже решались показать обнаженную дамскую грудь.
Pin-Up вступил в эпоху своеобразного барокко, позы стали более вычурными, а улыбки более зазывными.

Voila, petite pause dans cette soirée bien studieuse.. depuis mon retour de l'école (18h) je bosse... du russe, de l'anglais, du droit des affaires.. en regardant sur mon pc mes épisodes préférés de sex and the city...en gros la derničre partie de la 6čme saison... j'ai l'étrange impression d'ętre trčs cliché...la fille qui bosse ses cours en regardant une série typiquement féminine... Et puis regarder sex and the city me donne des envies dingues de fringues...de make up...de tout d'un petit tour dans les rues de new york avec mon chéri...j'aimerai tellement revoir cette ville avec lui, nous promener main dans la main comme des petits amoureux que nous sommes... Allez dčs que je gagne ma vie, lui et moi on file aux states et on se fait une petit trip de LA ŕ NY... ou l'inverse... Bon et puis j'ai besoin des conseils d'un expert en fringues... si T. passe par ici, j'aimerais bien son avis... Voila j'ai craqué et j'ai décidé de m'offrir une paire de bottes cavaličre, quelle est la meilleure couleur, noir ou marron??? Ensuite j'ai repéré dans la boutique vintage and new (prčs du vice versa) un magnifique jupon bleu avec des bottes cavaličre est-ce que ça le fait ou non??? Ensuite dans la boutique lulu castagnette j'ai flashé sur un petit boléro noir an laine trčs craquant, avec un jean un peu prčs du corps, les bottes et un petit pull soit bleu (bleu vert gris) ou rose pétant ça peut ętre sympa... bref plein de questions et pas envie de faire un impair...donc je compte sur tes conseils avisés... merci d'avance!!!
