Lucky B Bison chili cook-off photos

Not real sure what I a looking at here, but that is me. And yes, that is a cold beer.  We decided that the coozie (can cooler) really wasn't needed, but it just looked cool.  The joke of the day was "I need to get a beer to warm my hands up."

Here is Jeff and I cooking away.  That is real Texas chili in that pot (no beans!).  Too bad you can't see the ice that has formed on the bottom of the propane bottle (Ideal gas law and the fact it was REAL cold).  30 degress and 30+ MPH winds.  You will also notice my infared heater not on since I only brought one bottle.  That was later remedied when Zac brought out my other bottle.

This is Brian and I posing for the snake joke.  The note on the front of the ice chest (I always called them coolers, but here in Texas they call them ice chests) says" FREE hand warmers.  Take one, they really help.  Donated by Academy".  The hair standing up on my head isn't from the snake, it's hat-head.  But it really adds to the effect, doesn't it? And that is a ZIP disk in my coat pocket.  Not sure why it was there, but with all the pockets on that coat, I could carry litter of kittens and a six pack of beer.

This is Dale, our chili neighboor.  He won 2nd place for showman ship for his antics and snake in the cooler trick.  He works for TAMU in the poultry science dept.

Here I am warming up.  Stared the truck and turned on the heat.  Hey, I got the idea from crazy Dale, he was doing it too!

Here is a chuckwagon entry.  Really cool to see them in operation, with their dutch ovens and steaming tea kettles over an open fire.
