Personality: Very friendly, perhaps too much so lately. Ever since the Whitinshire Circus had left her Hester has taken to the drink which leads to occasional violent outbursts.

History: Once, generations ago, Old Hester dwelt in Loch Valley, past the old woods and overlooking a nice glen. She witched for the nearby village; delivering newborns and watching the sick. During her time living in the cottage Hester had two apprentices, Anne Bonnes and a elfin male named Cat Grenshaw. Anne truanted and eventually fled at fifteen. Cat, replaced Anne but unfortunately he was abducted by wayfarers in the wood below.
She abandoned her duties as a witch for the village and emerged from twenty or so years ago and formed the Whitinshire Circus. They carried out the usual errands of a circus, entertaining the legions and busking to keep up both their spirits and the coin.
Almost seven years after its establishment the Circus joined the Society of the Black Rose, and Hester, who had incurring arthritis, settled down in their Shack; happily away from the cold and damp (except for when the roof leaked, which was often).
During the summer nights the Circus packed up and left, ditched Old Hester and leaving the poor woman quite upset.
Recently the woman has taken up a job at Kazordoon Infirmary although still taking time out during holidays to visit her dear friends at the Shack.
