DAY PUPPIES WERE BORN - WEDNESDAY, JULY 14, 2004, STARTING AT 8:00 A.M.

The smallest girl was born first. She entered the world at 8 a.m. She is salt/pepper in color and has very silky fur. She is mostly black with some brown on her legs and a small white patch on her chest. She was very tiny...She had a very rough first week. She was having seizures the first 4 days of her life and we weren't sure she was going to make it. She has been bottle fed for the most, some nursing. She was very weak her first few days of life. She is the runt of the litter.

The 2nd born was the little boy. He entered this world at approximately 8:30 a.m. He is also salt/pepper in color, being mostly black with some brown on his legs and some white on his chest also. He has a small white upside down "triangle" on his chin.. looks like a goatee... very cute. He is the middle size puppy. He doesn't have any problems eating and he loves to cuddle with his sisters and mamma.

The third and last puppy was another girl, born at approximately 9:00 a.m. She is the biggest of the three of them. She is mostly brown in color with some black on her. She doesn't have any white on her, but that could all change in time. She is definitely the dominate one. She eats first and if she wants to eat, she will push the others out of her way. She rules the litter...She is also the baby of the bunch, if mamma wanders away, she cries and has to be right by mamma's side, even when she isn't eating.

Here are more pictures of the puppies the day they were born.

DAY TWO

Today is the day the little girl had her first seizure. I woke up to find her very weak from not getting enough to eat. I was holding her in my hands when I thought she "died". I called my mom and told her she was gone, then I saw her leg start to move... I immediately started rubbing her vigorously and she came back. I rushed her to the vet (they are just across the street from my house) and he gave her some dextrose and some fluids to keep her from dehydrating. I was then instructed to bottle feed her to make sure she was getting enough nutrition. That is when I started to fall in love with this precious puppy.

DAY THREE

The little girl's seizures continued.... she was eating well, but still very weak. They had a vet appointment to get their tails docked and their dew claws removed, but the little one was very weak so they decided not to do hers until the following Monday. He gave her more dextrose and more fluids and instructed me to keep bottle feeding her. She was doing some nursing also.

The Ornery Boy

The Dominate Girl

A WEEK OLD

My babies are a week old today. They are doing great, even my little baby girl. I have decided to keep her, I have spent so much time bottle feeding her, every 2 hours, that I have grown so attached to her. When I go to work, I take her to my mom's house and she babysits her and makes sure she gets her milk. She is still nursing also, but mostly being bottle fed. Mamma takes good care of her and doesn't mind me taking her to grandma's house when I go to work. My baby has been seizure free for 2 days now, so hopefully things are looking up for her and she will be healthy. When we took these pictures, you couldn't really tell just how small she was, so we compared her to a pack of cigarettes.. she is about the size of that... don't believe me? See for yourself....

I also took pictures of the other 2 with the cigarettes so you could see the size comparison.

I will update with more pictures later. That is all the pictures I have right now. I love my 3 babies and it is going to be hard to give 2 of them up. My sweet little girl is growing stronger every day. I would have been crushed if my little one wouldn't have made it, so I thank god she is doing good. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. Be sure to check back often for new pics.
