I want to start by thanking everyone for the
messages on the board,
clicks at Belle's web page and notes in her
guestbook. They really
help.
But most importantly, Belle is still with our
family. The oncologist
is working with our vet to help keep her
comfortable. For a few
hours this morning and then all day tomorrow, she
is at our vet's
getting continuous IV to wash out the toxins left
in her blood by the
failing kidneys. After that, daily injections of
subcutaneous
fluids. I'm thinking of enrolling in an online
vet-tech education
program so that I can take care of her! (LOL)
She still has life in her eyes, though her energy
level has dropped
off. She seems ... old. No longer the spoiled
princess, now she's
the wise yet pampered queen. Content to just lie
around instead of
checking all the windows. She seems fine with just
standing outside
letting the wind blow the smells to her rather
than tracking last
night's rabbit traffic through the yard.
Each day is a gift. Thanks again for the
encouragement!
