Subject:  Belle update

Been battling nausea the last two days. Yesterday was bad; today
she seems better. I spoke with her oncologist this evening; she
said it sounds like reanal(sp?) failure. Belle will need lots of
liquids and half a Pepcid twice a day. There are some more drastic
things we could do but that would just delay the inevitable. So I
am going to try and get her in for a blood screen so that the
oncologist can judge exactly what's going on.

Tonight I got her to eat. And she seemed much more interested but
picky; only people-food gets her interest. The oncologist said that
could either be the nausea or just plain, old beagle stubborness.
My guess it's a little of each. Knowing her, she's probably
thinking that if she's going to feel bad, she might as well milk it
for all the goodies it's worth! So I try and strike a happy medium,
something she'll eat without making a bad thing worse. Not sure how
long we have left with her, so might as well make the most of it.

Her face is so white now. When she was a puppy, it was mostly brown
with marvelous black mask from ear to ear across her eyes. She has
aged so much, it seems, since this whole thing started.

There I go. Rambling again...

Bet you have aged, too! :) Have you tried prescription Reglan for
her? That may help her eating more than the pepcid.

Hi Joel and Belle,
I say "ramble" away--I think we're all hear for each other when we need to do
that sometimes...
Hoping you have some more good days with your sweetie.
You'll both remain in my thoughts and prayers.

With candle lit, sending white light--
