I found the meat only kind of baby food. She likes
that. We were
back at the vet this morning for more subcutaneous
fluids. Also,
got her blood test results. I am having them faxed
to Univ. of
Illinois for confirmation, but they weren't good, according to our
local vet. She's developed pancreatitis,
her kidneys and liver look
bad and, if that weren't enough, she has an
infection somewhere. It
looks like sometime this week,
she'll have to go to the bridge.
Last couple of days have
been relatively good, though. No vomiting
or diarehea. She's eaten
fairly well, without any coxing. I've
been spreading the food out, lots of small
feedings instead of two
big ones. Also added a few tablespoons of plain
yogurt several
times a day, as much as she'll eat. She's still
fairly good at
eating, especially if it's people food. Today,
especially, she
seems to be sleeping very comfortably. Much to her
big buddy
Chester's chagrin, she is allowed on the couch AND the
"Mama-chair"
while he must remain on the floor.
I figure that if the news is as bad as it sounds,
then if she wants
it, she can have it! I know she's quite fond of
the chicken breast
from a McDonalds' grilled chicken sandwich. She
gobbled up a
hamburger patty last night. I'll try and spread
that stuff out so
she doesn't throw it up, but at this point, I'm
going to spoil this
dog rotten! Which, given her personality, she
would say (if she
could) she fully deserves! She's full blooded beagle
who is part
cat! (which she would say
is a complement to cats...)
Please visit her website. I've posted a sound-bite
of her at her
best, baying to beat the band! I check the hit
rate regularly and
it, in some strange way is encouraging to see the
hits.

I've rambled enough. Thanks for reading.
